ASOR FTX Facility

The ASOR FTX (Field Training Exercise) is a Training Mode which is up during non-op hours, on the ASOR Server. The FTX features various courses and concepts to help members hone their skills in all combat scenarios. 

Course Types:

All the following courses use info Stand signs in order to spawn targets and activate enemies. The Activation of all Alive Enemy Units is done via ASOR’s ASOREdit Framework. The spawning of Static Targets, and the animation of small Courses is done via scripting. 

All Courses using Live Targets are signalled as ‘complete’, once the marker colours change to “BLUE”.

The FTX Aims at promoting members abilities to Identify and Eliminate threats. Learning Syllabus is stated below for each course, and it designates the primary training concept designed to be taught. Members will gain far more, when practicing ‘thought in process’. When conducting the course, they should be identifying what ‘exactly’, they are practicing on.

AT Ranges:

The AT Ranges allow members to practice using Anti-Tank Weapon systems against hardened vehicular targets, including BTR’s, T-72B’s and Water Craft such as the Speedboat light patrol vessel. Using AT Weapon Systems is an important skill for members to master, and dealing with vehicular threats at Range is beneficial to the individual and the squad he operates in.

OBUA:

The OBUA Course (Operations In Built Up Areas) is designed to hone members ability to engage in infantry combat, in urban terrain. To activate the courses, members will need to spawn to preparation and interact with the info stand. It is here, that they can spawn the necessary enemies they want to occupy the town. Urban Combat is a common environment for an infantry soldier to operate in. Hence, it is important that the infantry soldier can identify and eliminate threats in the environment. Tactics are complicated by a three-dimensional environment, limited fields of view and fire because of buildings, enhanced concealment and cover for defenders, below-ground infrastructure, and the ease of placement of booby traps and snipers

Concept Course 1 – Adapt to Contact:

Course Concept 1 Promotes members’ abilities to Adapt/React to contact in jungle environments. The React to Contact battle drill is an essential skill for an Infantry soldier, and is a standardized procedure of dealing with contacts in an initial engagement. Enemies who begin an engagement against unwary foes will always have the upper hand, but with the proper React To Contact SOP, members can exploit techniques in order to turn a battle in their favor. The Area needs to be patrolled, and once contact is found, React and Eliminate enemies accordingly.

Concept Course 2 – Goat Trail Patrol:

The Concept Courses nearly all promote reaction to contact, but they also promote cohesion and team development. The Goat Trail Patrol features a Trail Patrol through Five Waypoints located along a mountain ridge. Members will need to apply their “React to Contact” procedure in order to gain the upper hand initially. However, this course also promotes the Fallback, Egress and Retreat SOP’s in the event that the firefight is not in favor of ASOR Members upon first contact.

Concept Course 3 – Target Elimination (Snipers):

Concept Course 3 is aimed at improving Assassin members and potential Assassin Recruits in identifying Threats and Eliminating them. Assassin Operatives are silent and deadly, and for good reason. Contact Identification and Elimination is an essential Skill for all Assassin operatives especially when utilizing the M320 Long Range Rifle. This course can also be completed with a spotter, to help with Target PID. Identify contacts, range accordingly, and eliminate them with 1 round.

Aircraft Target Ranges: 

Aircraft Target Ranges aim at improving pilots (both Rotary and Fixed Wing) in identifying and engaging enemy Vehicular threats, both Ground and Air. A pilots ability to identify ground targets against the terrain, and also dogfight and maneuver against aircraft targets is essential, especially when operating as callsign ‘Dagger’ or ‘Devil’. The Ranges can spawn both BTR and T-72 Variants of vehicles, as well as Airborne Ka-50’s.

Kill House CQC Course:

The Kill House CQC Course is designed to promote a members ability to identify threats in Urban environments. It is the smaller, safer version of the OBUA Course. There are multiple static targets in the Course, and each needs to be eliminated as quickly as possible. There are also Civilian and Unarmed POW’s which need to be identified and ‘ignored’ to complete the course effectively.

Pop-Up Course:

The Pop-Up Course features various static enemy targets, which pop-up randomly throughout a field range. The course aims at promoting a members ability to identify threats and use hand & eye co-ordination to eliminate the threat as quickly as possible. The range also contains various obstacles and static objects which simulate points of cover in various Urban Environments.

Lecks’ Marksmanship Range:

The Marksmanship range is a scripted range made by Lecks to allow ASOR Members to identify proper bullet characteristics and ballistics. As well as this, it allow members to practice weapon types in an equal environment (flat ground, interval targets) while also allowing target hit markers for proper identification of bullet grouping and projectile speed.
