Vehicle Contacts and Harbour

VEHICLE CONTACT DRILLS

  • four vehicle setup shown below, additional vehicles mimic vehicles two and three
  • vehicle drivers must inform passengers to dismount when safe to do so

CONTACT / SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOUR / INITIAL HABOUR

  • VICTOR1
    • Halt
    • Reverse 100m or within 20m of vehicle to rear
    • Deploy if required
  • VICTOR2
    • Halt maintain position and fire support
    • Take up left arc
    • Deploy if required, maintain gunner
  • VICTOR3
    • advance to 20m of vehicle in front
    • Take up right arc
    • Deploy if required
  • VICTOR4
    • Maintain position and fire support
    • Take up rear arc
    • deploy if required, maintain gunner

IED FIND/SUSPICION

  • VICTOR1
    • halt
    • deploy EOD and security
    • reverse to safe distance
  • VICTOR2,3 and 4
    • as per normal contact/initial harbour drill

IED STRIKE / VEHICLE DAMAGED OR DISABLED

  • all vehicles halt
  • deploy eod and security
  • conduct clearance
  • deploy medical team (if required)
  • deploy engineer/repair (if required)

HARBOURING

  • all vehicles perform contact/initial harbour drill
  • harbour site is selected 
  • do not harbour on a road or path, move minimum 100m from nearest
  • EOD conduct clearance of site before moving vehicles in
  • deploy all EOD and some security
  • no dismounting until all vehicles in place and EOD have cleared
  • VICTOR1
    • take up position to start harbour
    • this becomes 12o’clock of harbour
  • VICTOR2, 3 and 4
    • take up 3, 9 and 6 clock positions
    • any additional vehicles slot between those positions
