ROLE OF DEVIL
DEVIL is used for heavy aerial fire support utilising the AH64 attack helicopter. The AH64 can be fitted with a multitude of arms. It is moderately armoured and but still susceptible to ground fire. It can utilise its agility and range to avoid taking fire.
DEVIL callsign comes from a re-roled XRAY# callsign. When XRAY (Air Commander) instructs an XRAY# callsign to re-role callsign DEVIL that XRAY# callsign will now answer to DEVIL1 and has permission to communicate directly to the TACP for Air to Ground fire requests.
If not already, you will need to RTB to change aircraft to an AH64. Ensure you inform XRAY of your RTB RE-ROLE and return to HP – DEVIL1 HOLDING.
When your attack run is complete inform XRAY you have returned to HP or if you have been requested to re-role to another task DEVIL1 RTB etc.
AIR TO GROUND FIRE
The TACP will indicate your Battle Point (BP), generally a BP will have a name if multiple exist for example BP WHISKEY. A BP is the starting point of your attack run and is used to ensure you are lined up in such a direction that your fire will not fall short or go long onto friendly assets.
