ROLE OF DAGGER
DAGGER is used for light close air support utilising the AH6 attack helicopter. The AH6 can be armed with dual machine guns and rocket pods or both. It is lightly armoured and highly acceptable to ground fire instead using its speed and mobility and its ability to fly low to avoid taking fire.
DAGGER callsigns come from a re-roled XRAY# callsign. When XRAY (Air Commander) instructs an XRAY# callsign to re-role callsign DAGGER that XRAY# callsign will now answer to DAGGER1 and has permission to communicate directly to the TACP for Air to Ground fire requests.
If not all ready you will need to RTB to change aircraft to an AH6. Ensure you inform XRAY of your RTB REROLE and return to HP – DAGGER1 HOLDING.
When your attack run is complete inform XRAY you have returned to HP or if you have been requested to re-role to another task DAGGER1 RTB etc.
AIR TO GROUND FIRE
The TACP will indicate your Battle Point (BP), generally a BP will have a name if multiple exist for example BP WHISKEY. A BP is the starting point of your attack run and are used to ensure you are lined up in such a direction that your fire will not full short or go long onto friendly targets.
