Downed Military Helicopter Rumoured to Be Caused by Rebel Guns
By Anastasia Mitchenko

In a series of shocking events, a military helicopter has been shot down over the southern Russian
town of Pustoshka.

Official military correspondents say Rebels with ties to the Berkovetus National Guard are to
blame.

It is rumoured the Rebels were provided with information which allowed them to easily secure
the anti-aircraft weaponry from a Russian military storage facility near Chernarus.

One man being interviewed at the scene said, ‘First there was a loud “bang”, and then I saw the
helicopter flying towards the ground with thick smoke trailing behind it. I never heard any
gunshots, just the helicopter falling out of the sky…’.

Another eyewitness described the scene as ‘horrific’ and ‘complete carnage’, claiming to have
heard what sounded like a ‘very large machine gun’ firing from some distance away.

The helicopter shot down is reported to be a Mi-28 ‘Havoc’, a state-of-the-art attack helicopter
used by Russian military.

It was shot down whilst conducting a routine flight early Saturday morning.

For some, the attack did not come as a shock.

An unnamed source claims that the increased Russian military operations against Rebel
occupied regions are to blame.

This is the first known attack by Rebels since increased Russian military presence on the
Berkovetus border.
