SITUATION:

The operation will commence at first light (approx 0530) on the 26th November.

Enemy –

Although significant defensive positions have been established in the North West of the island from all intelligence the North West side is far less defended that the South and also contains for port and cargo capability. Reconnaissance from BLACK Force and VOSHOD elements indicates primarily reserve forces in the North and 12th Mountain Division forces primarily in the South. Reserve forces in the North however have been heavily supplemented with 12th Mech forces.

BKT Forces currently on the island are in disarray due to BLACK Force communication and infrastructure strikes, organised counter attacks to any invasion are expected to be heavily delayed and disorganised. BKT anti-air coverage is expected to be neutralised prior to H hour as well as control of the air space.

Over all capability of the forces there are expected to be low with difficulties to rearm and re-enforce. However equipment used is of high quality as part of the recent BKT rearmament. Heavy armour is expect to be extremely low with mechanised infantry the main force on the island. There is the potential for BKT artillery support in the early hours of the operation however this will be a primary target for Air, Black and Green force targeting.

Friendly –

BLUE, ORANGE, PURPLE, GREEN and BLACK forces will each have their own AO to cover as per detailed plan.

Full Fixed Wing assets will be on standby for the island invasion.

Full Rotary Wing assets will be made available for island invasion.

Victor units will be landed upon seizure of initial port facilities.

Civilian –
There is a significant civilian population on the island and they are required for operation of ports and oil and gas export.

SUBJ: OPERATION BEREGU

OPERATION BRIEF:

Operation URAN has not gone as well as the ministry had hoped, BKT rearmament and modernisation was far more advanced than first scoped and they have proven a difficult adversary with the modernised equipment. Adaptation to the situation is required and the ministry has approved additional forces to be utilised under Operation BEREGU.

Operation BEREGU is a strategic operation with an aim to open a second front to thin or restrict reinforcement of BKT forces in the current area of operations and secondly seize key oil and gas installations and ports. NAPF Island is a key import and export facilitator for BKT providing a centralised gateway to the rest of the world while at the same time security to that industry. NAPF island has been identified as the vital link to the funding of resupply of arms and equipment and the means to get them in country as well.

Operation BEREGU will consist of two parts, firstly Operation ZROYA, full brief below followed by Operation BEREGU itself.

Operation ZROYA:

Operation BEREGU requires pre-strike and target preparation activities, Operation ZROYA is an operation to facilitate Operation BEREGU consisting of covert special operations groups operating on NAPF Island targeting invasion enabling targets combined with a naval blockade and air superiority of the NAPF island region. Ground forces will consist of Operation Beregu BLACK force.

The element of surprised needs to be used to infiltrate undetected and inflict as much confusion and damage as possible to gain the upper hand on the island. Key communication, fuel and power facilities are to be targeted and resupply sea lines establish in the event air resupply becomes unavailable.

SITUATION:

Enemy –

A limited naval force is present in the vicinity of the island and is expected to be quickly eliminated in a preemptive air and sea campaign. It is expected that BKT forces will have foreseen this and little reliance on the navy or air assets will be risked and solid defensive fortifications are expected onshore.

The island has extensive anti-air coverage however this will also be the primary target of naval and air campaign. A significant garrison based on satellite imagery of the rate of construction of defensive positions exists on the island however the exact number is unknown. Forces on the island are mechanised units primarily, Limited heavy armour is expected due to the terrain and transportation limitations.

Capability of the forces there are expected to be low, primarily reserve units (previously BNG) with smaller supporting 12th Mountain Division embeds. However equipment issued could possibly be of high quality its unknown how extensive BKT rearmament has been for reserve forces.

Friendly –

ZYROYA Forces:

BEREGU BLACK force will consist of 1SQN, 2SQN and 3SQN and will each have their own base of operations and operate independently on the island until relieved by main BEREGU forces.

Fixed Wing air support will be available when primary AAA installations are destroyed.

Rotary Wing air support will also become available at this time.

BEREGU Forces:

BLUE, ORANGE, PURPLE, GREEN and BLACK forces will each have their own AO to cover. A detailed plan will follow.

Full Fixed Wing assets will be on standby for the island invasion.

Full Rotary Wing assets will be made available for island invasion.

Victor units will be landed upon seizure of the first port facility.

Civilian –
There is a significant civilian population on the island and they are required for operation of ports and oil and gas export.

Terrain –
NAPF Island (Wooded rolling hills, Urban)

MISSION:

BEREGU forces commencing 12/11/17 (Operation ZROYA) and 10/12/17 (Operation BEREGU) are to seize key ports and facilities capturing NAPF Island NLT 4/2/18 IOT to deny operation funding and equipment to the BKT armed forces.

Russian Special Forces Massacre Hotel
By Ivan Vasiliev

Russian forces inserted deep into Berkovetus territory last night in what is believed to be a special forces raid on several civilian targets and infrastructure. Authorities reported upto 50 civilians were murdered in the raid, power infrastructure was damaged and all occupants of a hotel were murdered by what was described as mass executions.

A prison facility was also attacked before BKT forces could respond and drive the Russian forces out of the area. The prison was believed to be the target of the raid but disorientation and inept conduct is believed to be the cause of the Russian massacres.

Russian – Business As Usual – Border Incursion
By Ivan Vasiliev

The Berkovetus Government and the newly formed Weimar Union Council have both condemned an invasion by Russian forces into Berkovetus territory. Russian officials have yet to comment on the activity along the border and Russian news outlets have zero coverage of the escalation of force, the entirety of Russia is business as usual.

The border incursion occurring in the early hours of September 27th reportedly involved special forces and paratroops, mechanised and heavy armour and thousands of regular troops. BKT sources revealed that the BKT government had no knowledge of the invasion until well after 0700 after major confusion within BKT circles as communication went dark shortly after 0600 the exact same time a major exercise began simulating a Russian invasion.

It’s believed Russian forces secured key bridge crossings, roads, towns and large areas of forest regions along the border in the last 24 hours since commencing this invasion. Given the zero communication policy coming out of the Kremlin more is expected in the next 24 hours with the President declaring a state of war with Russia this evening.

SUBJ: OPERATION URAN – H0 SUMMARY

Initial engagements with the BKT have revealed that the rearmament and training of the BKT 12th Mountain Division is more advanced than first realised. Particularly in technical capabilities but also training. Expected T model tanks have not been encountered instead modern American Bradley IFVs with high capability and well trained crews have been sporadically encountered across the frontline. A full platoon of Bradley’s almost crushed the key initial bridge securing operation by 2nd SPG 1SQN but after disabling one they chose to withdraw.

The Western forest area reported initially as being essentially armour free has also encountered sporadic Bradley vehicles. 2nd SPG has requested advanced shoulder portable AT weapons, these are being sourced for selected special operations.

BKT defensive positions within the forest were also more advanced than initial offensive recon and probing identified. Anti-Air, support artillery and fixed AT weaponry have significantly slowed the the advance West however 83rd Airborne have had significant success operating in behind Orange Route and were re-supplied before being cut off due to a BKT counter attack.

BLUE REPORT

Heavy casualties were suffered on the initial advanced with fixed AT weapons, bunkers, wire and supporting artillery all but neutralising the first wave. Support from 2nd SPG teams has punched a hole in the Southern sector of the BLUE Route but the main supply route blue to the north is not open and held by BKT forces. BLUE 2SQN with support from 2nd SPG squads with light mortar support successfully pushed the BLUE Southern sector however.

ORANGE REPORT

The initial push was successful with scattered bunkers and wire throughout the forest. ORANGE forces reached 83rd 1SQN and 2SQN forces and resupplied them before lines were broken through from the South and contact with 83rd was lost, ORANGE force secured from counter attack from South and holding.

GREEN REPORT

83rd Airborne

83rd 1SQN successfully secured an LZ and setup an alamo, several casualties on drop from a roving armed technical patrol. After initial roving patrols heavy contact came through from the North forcing a standoff at the alamo. After a break out all remaining forces counter attacked up the North-West flank neutralising defensive AT positions.

We then turned Eastward neutralising a armoured vehicle repair and supply depot where we have setup a base of operations. Scouting patrols made contact with Orange force and managed to get resupply through before being cut off by BKT counter attack. Contact with 83rd 2SQN was lost after counter attack, believed to be lost or scattered.

11th Airborne

BLACK REPORT

First offensive took the BKT totally by surprise, the bridge was secured with in 10mins of the beginning of the offensive. The town was captured several hours later after some fierce house to house fighting. AT positions on the flanks of the town have been neutralised and a BKT counter attack on the town was held off almost single-handedly by Bravo Team 1SQN 2nd SPG.

BKT entrenched positions have been identified in the forest beyond the town and pose a major obstacle with significant kill ground between the town and forest. Fighting continues.

PURPLE REPORT

2nd SPG 3SQN conducted a direct assault on the town South pushing through to Route Purple, the following assault on Studenets was met with mechanised forces and armour and was pushed back after fierce fighting on the outskirts of the town. Its believed the BKT HQ was located in the town hence the strong opposition on approach. Nightfall on day zero has seen several light counter attack/probes but no major offensives, position holding.
